Welcome to TuneZen ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience when using our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
TuneZen operates on a strict local-first privacy model:
- Microphone Audio: TuneZen accesses your device's microphone in real-time solely for the purpose of audio pitch detection (YIN & FFT algorithms) and metronome tuning. We do not record, store, save, or upload any audio data to external servers or third parties. All audio processing happens entirely on your device in real-time.
- Local Preferences & History: User settings, calibration presets, session history, and tuning preferences are stored locally on your device using local device storage (Room database / SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your device.
- Analytics & Crash Reports: If you opt-in or through standard app distribution platforms, anonymous diagnostic logs or crash reports may be collected to improve app stability and performance. No personally identifiable information (PII) is included.
2. How We Use Information
Since we do not collect personal data, your information is only used locally to:
- Provide accurate real-time instrument tuning and metronome timing.
- Remember your preferred reference pitch (A4 = 440Hz, etc.) and custom instrument temperaments.
- Maintain your personal practice history and streak statistics locally.
3. Third-Party Services
TuneZen may use standard platform libraries and optional ad networks (such as Google AdMob) for polite banner displays if enabled. Ad networks may collect anonymous device identifiers for ad personalization in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
4. Data Security
Because your audio streams are processed in-memory and never transmitted over the internet, your personal voice and instrument sounds remain entirely private to you.
5. Children's Privacy
TuneZen is safe for musicians of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
