Core Commitment: PureLock is built on an absolute offline-first, zero-knowledge architecture. We do not collect, transmit, store, or monetize your personal data, credentials, vault secrets, or intruder photos on any external servers or cloud databases.

1. Overview

PureLock ("we", "our", or "app") is designed to provide robust privacy protection, app locking, secure encrypted vault storage, and intrusion detection directly on your local Android device. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use PureLock.

2. Local Data Storage & Zero Cloud Transmission

All data generated or managed by PureLock remains strictly on your device:

Encrypted Vault Items: Passwords, notes, and secure items are encrypted locally and stored in an offline Room database on your device.
Intruder Selfies: Photos captured when unauthorized unlock attempts occur are stored solely in your device's local application storage and can be viewed or deleted by you at any time.
App Lock & Security Settings: App lock configurations, schedules, and preferences are stored locally using encrypted SharedPreferences and local databases.

Because PureLock does not require or utilize internet connectivity for its core operations, your data never leaves your physical device.

3. Device Permissions & Explanation

To function securely and effectively, PureLock requests specific Android system permissions. Each is used strictly for its stated security purpose:

Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE): Used exclusively to detect when protected apps are launched so that the secure lock overlay can be displayed immediately. This service does not read user keystrokes, personal messages, or screen contents outside of app launch detection.
Camera (CAMERA): Used locally to capture intruder selfie photos upon repeated failed unlock attempts. Photos are never uploaded or shared.
System Alert Window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to render the secure lock overlay screen on top of protected applications.
Biometric Hardware (USE_BIOMETRIC): Utilized locally via the Android BiometricPrompt API for fingerprint and face authentication.
Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE): Ensures reliable background protection and monitoring for your locked applications.

4. Third-Party Services & Analytics

PureLock contains no third-party advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or remote analytics tools. We do not track your app usage habits or share any information with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.

5. Data Security

We implement robust industry-standard security measures including hardware-backed encryption keys (Android Keystore), local database encryption, and secure memory clearing protocols to safeguard your sensitive information against unauthorized access.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the app and on our official release documentation. Continued use of the application constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
