Privacy Policy for Calyx

Zero-Knowledge Local Architecture
Calyx is designed from the ground up to protect your reproductive, hormonal, and circadian wellness privacy. Your menstrual cycles, symptoms, basal body temperature, HRV, and personal reflections never leave your device without your explicit, manual action. We do not operate user tracking servers, sell personal records, or integrate behavioral advertising SDKs.
1 Information We Process
To provide circadian synchronization, cycle prediction, and physiological phase insights, the application allows you to record the following information locally:
- Cycle & Menstruation Data: Period start and end dates, flow volume (spotting, light, medium, heavy), and expected cycle duration.
- Biomarkers & Vital Signs: Basal Body Temperature (BBT) in °C, Heart Rate Variability (HRV) in ms, and sleep duration.
- Subjective Health Signals: Energy levels, pain scores, mood states, physical symptoms (e.g., cramps, headaches, bloating), and optional encrypted private notes.
- Security Credentials: Passcode/PIN hashes and biometric authentication tokens used exclusively by Android Keystore and BiometricPrompt on your device.
2 Local-Only Storage & Encryption
All health and wellness information entered into Calyx is stored locally within an isolated SQLite database on your device using Jetpack Room architecture:
- Device-Bound Storage: We operate no central cloud servers holding user accounts or reproductive health profiles.
- No Advertising Trackers: Calyx contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, zero data broker integrations, and zero telemetry analytics trackers.
- Haven Vault Security: The Haven Security Vault enables device-level PIN or biometric lockouts. In emergency situations, the Decoy PIN feature unlocks an authentic local weather dashboard rather than your reproductive data.
3 AI Guidance & Data Handling (Gemini API)
Calyx provides optional, user-initiated hormonal and circadian wellness recommendations powered by generative AI (Google Gemini API):
- User-Initiated: Guidance requests are triggered only when you tap "Refresh Guidance" or query the Symptom Detective.
- De-Identified Payload: AI requests contain strictly anonymized physiological parameters (such as cycle day, temperature trend, and selected symptoms). No personal names, emails, IP tracking identifiers, or device serial numbers are ever transmitted.
- Ephemeral Processing: Inquiries are processed transiently to generate clinical lifestyle summaries and are not retained by us. Under Google AI Enterprise Terms, API prompts are not used to train global commercial machine learning models.

5 User Control & Data Deletion
You have full, autonomous ownership over your data at all times:
- Instant Local Wipe: Within Haven > Erase All Data, tapping "Wipe All Data" immediately and permanently purges all cycle logs, temperature curves, and settings from your device storage.
- Export Rights: You can export clinical summaries formatted as medical-grade A4 PDF documents or raw transcripts at any time.
- App Uninstallation: Deleting the Calyx app from your Android device clears all locally stored application sandbox data automatically.
6 Children's Privacy
Calyx is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children.
7 Policy Updates & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect platform enhancements or regulatory guidelines. Updates will be published within the application and repository release notes.
